Attendance

At Cawston Grange Primary School, attendance matters.  Every day out of school is a day of missed learning, missed moments with friends and a missed opportunity to take another small step forward in building the skills and knowledge needed for a bright future.  Our Attendance Policy sets out how we encourage our pupils attend well and the support that we will offer when attending school becomes a challenge.

If you would like any support or guidance with your child's attendance, please do contact us.  The following team of people are happy to help with any attendance related issues, please feel free to contact whichever you feel may be most relevant to you and your families needs by calling the school office or emailing admin3594@welearn365.com:

Mrs Worthington - Attendance Lead

Applying for a Leave of Absence

There are 190 days in a school year, this leaves 175 days (including weekends) for time with their family enjoying days out and holidays. For this reason, requests for days out or holidays in term time will rarely be granted, and only where there are exceptional circumstances that clearly demonstrate that the requested absence could only happen during term time.  Parents may be asked to provide evidence of the exceptional circumstance.

Any leave of absence must be applied for in advance, otherwise the absence will be considered unauthorised.

Our school does refer unauthorised absences to the Warwickshire Attendance Team and parents may be issued a fine.  The fixed penalty is currently £60 per child, per parent.
