Pupil Premium Grant
What is the Pupil Premium?
Introduced in 2011, the Pupil Premium is an amount of money received from the Government, to enable Cawston Grange Primary School to ensure that all children have an equal chance to succeed and fulfil their potential. The Pupil Premium funding is decided by:
- The number of children who are registered for Free School Meals
- The number of children who are classed as “looked after children”
- The number of children from families with parents in the Armed Forces.
Research has shown that the main barriers to academic achievement for this group of children are socio-economic factors, less parental engagement and family support, and/or poor school attendance.
The Pupil Premium is intended to directly benefit these children within school, regardless of their academic ability.
