Christmas is here!!

We have been having so much fun (yes I said it in a school!!). Starting with the Santa Dash, advent books, disco day and Cawston Christmas Day. We even built Santa a special obstacle course in the Nature Classroom, then tested them out ourselves! And to think we still have a few days to go too!!

It is coming up to that time of year where you may need some gift ideas....what is better than a new book. Here is a great list of recommended books for year 1 children which ranges from some amazing classics to some brand new wonderful stories. Hope it helps!

Hello Yellow Day for Mental Health Awareness Week! What fun we have had all day....and the balloons just 'popped' it off!

We have been practicing our movement and catching skills. We have been trying to master the side step and gallop making sure our toes are pointing the correct way and catching (bean bags and large balls) using our hands and not our arms and bodies. Great work already in this unit Butterflies (even in the rain)!!

Today we visited the school library! We all love reading and sharing books together. We selected a book to bring home to share with our adults. This is chosen by the children and it is not intended to be at a level for them to be able to read the whole text themselves but to have time with an adult to read it together/read to them. Please bring the book back next Wednesday so we can change it and get a new one.

Amazing effort in the Nature Classroom today Year 1! I am so impressed with your communication, co-operation and patience with each other as you worked together to make a tremendous wobble road through the Nature Classroom using the long sticks and logs. Thank you for all having correct Nature Classroom kit too! Keep it up Superstars!

Butterflies, your first week in Year 1 is already complete and you totally smashed it!! I can tell already that we are going to have a great year! Thank you for being such super stars!!!
