Committee Roles

Chair

The chair will work closely with the Head Teacher and the committee members to ensure that the PTA is run effectively, welcoming and involving all members.

  • Oversee the annual plan of events for the PTA
  • Write the annual report with the support of the committee
  • Run Committee meetings and provide updates & feedback from regular Head Teacher meetings
  • Responsible for legal compliance
  • Act as a signatory

 

Vice-Chair

  • Deputise for the Chair in their absence
  • Organise the termly PTA newsletter / large communications.
  • Source and purchase PTA gifts for the school as per the annual plan

 

Treasurer

  • Day to day management of funds & banking transactions.
  • Issue bills and make payments on behalf of the PTA
  • Organise floats for events and collect and reconcile monies raised
  • Report totals per event to the committee and log for future comparison
  • Prepare the financial report for the AGM
  • Deal with charity filing requirements and gift aid
  • Act as a signatory

 

Secretary

  • Arrange meetings and distribute the agenda
  • Take minutes at meeting & write up / distribute
  • Support the chair with reporting and legislation tasks

 

Communications

  • Deal with correspondence with the parents, school office and 3rd parties
  • Manage the school website PTA pages, the PTA Facebook page and PTA notice board
  • Support committee members with admin tasks

 

Fundraising Co-ordinator

  • Seek external opportunities for grants, incentives, etc
  • Promote such opportunities to parents
  • Correspond with the school on grant applications

 

Committee Members

  • Contribute ideas at meetings
  • Co-Ordinate Events
  • Support Events
  • Vote on actions/decisions at meetings.
