  • Milk for Penguins/Dolphins

    Fri 23 Oct 2015

All children under the age of 5 receive free milk at school, funded by the UK Government's Nursery Milk Scheme.  When your child turns 5, should you wish your child to continue receiving milk you have the option to do so.  We have made arrangements with Cool Milk, to supply milk at a subsidised cost of just 22p per day.  If you wish your child to receive milk at school please visit www.coolmilk.com and select "Register your child for milk here", then follow the on-screen instructions to register and pay.  Alternatively please call into the school office for a registration form - send your completed form to Cool Milk, and they will send you a payment request.  Should you have any queries regarding your child's registration or milk supply in general, please do not hesitate to contact Cool Milk directly at customerservices@coolmilk.com.

  • Free School Meals

    Fri 09 Oct 2015

As you are aware the government is offering free school meals to all Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 pupils. However if you meet the threshold for an entitled free school meal, regardless of which year your child is in, it is important that you still apply. This registration determines the school’s pupil premium grant.  The school uses this funding to employ additional teaching staff to support individual pupils learning.

Your child may be able to get free school meals if you receive any of the following:

    • Income Support
    • income-based Jobseekers Allowance
    • income-related Employment and Support Allowance
    • support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
    • the guaranteed element of State Pension Credit
    • Child Tax Credit (provided you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190)
    • Working Tax Credit run-on - paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit
    • Universal Credit
    • Children who get any of the above benefits in their own right (ie they get benefits payments directly, instead of through a parent or guardian) can also get free school meals.

or have this above entitlement but chose to take sandwiches it is still essential that you register for a free school meal.  The application form and more information can be found on http://www.warwickshire.gov.uk/freeschoolmeals

  • Harvest Festival - Friday 9 October

    Fri 02 Oct 2015

The School’s Harvest Festival will take place next Friday 9 October at 9.00am led by Year 6 Polar Bears.  This harvest we are asking you to help feed local people in crisis by collecting tinned and dried food for Rugby foodbank.

There are an estimated 12,500 people living on the edge of poverty in Rugby including 14% of our town’s children.  Even a relatively small problem can throw people living on the edge of poverty into crisis.  Every day local people are forced to send their children to bed hungry, but the good news is that you can be part of the solution.  By simply donating a tin of food you are helping make a difference in the community you live in.  The food bank requires foods from the list below to make up balanced food parcels:-

Milk (UHT or powdered)                                                Sugar (500g)

Long life fruit juice                                                          Pasta Sauce

                      Sponge pudding (tinned)                                                Tinned vegetables

                      Rice pudding (tinned)                                                     Instant coffee

                      Hot chocolate                                                                 Biscuits/Snack bars

                      Instant mash potato                                                       Rice (500g)

Tinned meat or fish                                                        Tinned fruit

                      Jam                                                                                Loo rolls

                      Toiletries

Thank you in advance for any contributions that you are able to make and your support for our community.
