Happy Diwali!! We have been learning about the Festival of Light and how it is celebrated!

We had lots of fun at our Phonics Stay and Play!

Inspired by Andrew Goldsworthy and our Maths focus on circles and triangles, we created our own transient art in the Nature Classroom using natural materials!

Useful Information

Tuesday:

Wednesday: Nature Classroom

Thursday: PE

Friday: Return Library books

Reading – Please bring your book and book log into school each day. When listening to your child read at home, please write a short comment in the book log so we can see progress. Children can change their ‘Shared Reader’ books as often as you have read them. Please encourage them to change their books independently in the morning once you have read them at home.

Sharing a book with your child every day can have a huge impact on their progress in reading and developing their language skills, so please try and make time for this at home!

Nature Classroom – Due to possible contact with thorns/brambles/stinging nettles, please come to school wearing long trousers (blue/black) that will protect your legs and a coat suitable for the weather. Please bring in a pair of wellies to keep at school so that we can access the outside whatever the weather!

PE – Please practise getting changed as independently as possible and placing your items of clothing in a neat pile (this can be a really helpful skill when there are 30 of us with the same uniform!). Make sure that EVERYTHING is labelled with your child’s name so that if items do get misplaced they find their way back again. It may be worth putting a spare set of pants in their PE bags just in case there are any toileting/water tray accidents!

If you have any questions or need to share any information with us, please come and speak to us on the door. J
