Polar Bears – Year 6

Hello,

Welcome to the Summer Term in Year 6!  This term, as with every term at Cawston Grange, there are many opportunities for you all to develop your social skills, grow in confidence and become a responsible young adult ready for secondary school.

SATs – (Standard Assessment Tests)

These will take place during the week beginning the 8th May 2023 after the coronation bank holiday.  The tests by no means define your Year 6 experience and should not worry about them.

Residential Trip – Manor Adventure, Culmington Manor, Shropshire.

This will take place over three days and two nights from 22.05.23 – 24.05.23. More information will be sent out shortly.

Make £5 Grow Enterprise Project for the Summer Sizzler

In preparation for the Summer Sizzler on 1st July, Year 6 will be taking part in the Make £5 Grow project from Virgin Money. You will be forming several small businesses with the aim of making as much money for the school as possible.

Secondary Transition

Work towards transition will become more focused in the summer term and secondary schools will also provide some transition activities and support.

The Year 6 Production

The Year 6 Production will take place on the 20th July with performances at 2pm and 6pm that day. Further details about auditions will follow soon.

The Year 6 Leavers Assembly

Just a reminder that this will take place on 24th July 2023 at 2.30pm.

Here’s to a great last term at primary school!

Welcome to Year 6

We have had a fantastic first week in Polar Bears! You have all settled so well into Year 6 and we are amazed at how hard you are all working.  Here are just a few reminders of our new timetable:

Monday: Spelling test. All the words for the half term have been sent out. Spare copies are available if needed.

Thursday: This is our library slot where you can change your fiction and non-fiction books if you have read them.

Friday: You need to come into school already in PE kit as it is our PE day. Don’t forget your wellies and raincoat if it’s wet as we’ve also got Outdoor Learning in the Nature Classroom.

Home Learning will continue on Doodle and we will be checking weekly to ensure that you are using this.

Well done to everyone on a great start to Year 6 and our First World War topic. Let’s keep up the good work!

Mrs Jones
