Welcome Red Pandas

Thank you to all the parents who came and helped us with our castles. I was very impressed with all of the teamwork I saw. Enjoy the photos of the Red Pandas' DT Castles. They are very proud of them- and rightfully so!

Trip to St Mark's Church

We really enjoyed our trip to St Mark's Church in Bilton. We are learning about Sacred Places in RE, so it was good to be able to visit a sacred place for Christians. For a lot of the Red Pandas it was the first time going into a church. It was a great way to learn about Christianity in a hands on way. We were lucky with the weather and enjoyed a sunny walk both to and from the church. All of the Red Pandas were very sensible and showed good listening. One Red Panda even remembered how to safely cross the road from when we learnt about in back in September! Mrs Bevan was a fantastic guide and we all learnt lots. We were also very lucky to hear our very own Mrs Taylor's stories about her children being Christened at St Marks. We hope you enjoy our pics :)

Our new Bell tent in the Nature Classroom is great for learning in. We love it! smiley

Sorting facts about castles in English

We have really enjoyed exploring and identifying the plants in our Nature Classroom.

The Red Pandas have really enjoyed learning about Explorers this term. Here they are having a go at ordering the Explorers from who they think lived long ago and who lived more recently. They had some great ideas! They thought about if a camera was used or whether it was a painted portrait and what clue that gave us. They looked at the clothes they wore. Some very interesting ideas indeed!

Explorers

Space Day was amazing!!! We enjoyed the poem, "Our Space Ship" in English and weighed some interesting space items in Maths. In the Nature Classroom we built our own rockets and went on our own imaginative journeys linked to our Explorer topic.

SPACE DAY!

Wow! Our Spring 2 Half Term got off to a very exciting start with two visitors. We had Natalie visiting with lots of animals which we all got to meet and hold. After that a very clever man who knows lots of circus tricks showed us all one or two. We had to persevere a lot, but still had a lot of fun. We hope you enjoy the photos :)

Red Panda's Autumn Term

Wow! What a half term. The Red Pandas have done such a good job of being Year 1's this first half term. We hope enjoying seeing some of our fantastic learning.

Maths in the Nature Classroom

Red Pandas created some of their own Maths problems in the Nature classroom. The sticks represented 2. The apples represented 5. What number was represented altogether? Can you work it out? These Red Pandas did!

The importance of washing our hands

In the first week of Year 1 we carried out an investigation. We got ourselves some bread and rubbed them on different areas of the classroom. We also rubbed one of them with our nice and clean hands. Can you see why it is so important to regularly wash our hands?
