We made rafts out of different materials. The children enjoyed testing these in the water to see if they would work.
Sports Day 2021
Our Outdoor Learning Day!
Our Local Area Walk.
We went on a local area walk as part of our new Geography topic. We followed a route on an Ordnance Survey map and looked out for points of interest along the way. We discussed the physical and human features along the way as well as using our fieldwork skills to enhance our knowledge about our map skills and the local area.
In Geography we have learnt how to use a compass!
Planting seeds and bulbs!
In Science, we have planted seeds and bulbs. We are going to observe them over the Summer term and use our measuring skills to compare Grass seeds and Gladioli bulbs.
In Design and Technology we made our own Teddy Bear Waistcoats.
We enjoyed going on a 3D shape hunt!
We used Digimaps to explore Jamaica!
We made our own football kits!
We looked at the designers Cedella Marley (Jamaica) and Stella McCartney (England) in our Art lessons. These designers designed the Olympics kits for Jamaica and London!
In Art, we made our own Teddy Bear blankets. We printed, learnt how to sew and tie-dye.
In Design and Technology we learnt about free wheel and fixed wheel axles. We designed and evaluated our own product. These were moving vehicles.
We used Drama to help us escape the raging fire that burnt down the city of London in the 17th Century! Our History topic was based around the Great Fire of London (1666)!
In Science we analysed our school lunch to see whether it was a balanced meal.
Year 2 - In Art and Design we have developed our use of line, colour, shape, layering and collage to create these abstract portraits.
Hedging around in the Outdoor area!
We made our own toys!
