Red Pandas – Year 1

Please find our Knowledge Organiser for Aut 1

We enjoyed solving the calculations and placing them on the correct answer on the number line. We discovered some of the numbers didn't have a calculation so created our own. Great team work Red Pandas!

We investigated three different types of paper to see which was the strongest. We made paper chains out of paper towels, card and printer paper and then found out which one held the most stones.

We have been learning about three different Land Artists this half term. Andy Goldsworthy, Richard Shilling and Maya Lin. We have been so inspired, both working together to create group Land Art and designing and creating our own. We even found time to explore and print with a range of natural resources. We hope you enjoy our Gallery of Land Art below.

Happy Hello Yellow Day!

An amazing first two weeks!

PE – Thursday and Friday – children need to have PE kit in school to change into. (Our PE kit is white t-shirt and blue/navy shorts, jumper/jogging bottoms/leggings for colder weather, pumps for inside and trainers for outside.)

Library – Tuesday– only bring your book back if you would like to change it. If you forget your book, you won’t be able to take another one out until it is returned.

Reading book and log – please bring them into school every day.  When listening to your child read at home, please write it in the record so we can see progress. Children can change their home reading books when they need to from the books in the classroom.

Spellings – there will be a spelling test on a Monday each week.  New words will be sent home in the back of the book on a Tuesday.  Please make sure the book is back in school on a Monday for the test.

Nature classroom – Monday – please come to school wearing long trousers (blue or black) and a coat suitable for the weather. Wellies can be kept in school.

Website – We try to update this regularly with photos from our learning and any helpful website links etc so please keep an eye on the class page.
